About the program

Permitting Innovators is a program to modernize federal permitting for the 21st century. The Council on Environmental Quality invited innovators to share tech solutions that will accelerate and modernize federal environmental reviews and permitting.

On July 31, 2026, high-potential solutions will be showcased at the Permitting Innovators Expo in the Washington, D.C. area, and will later be featured in the Permitting Innovators Solutions Catalog. Both the Expo and the Catalog provide exciting opportunities to shape the future of environmental review and permitting through public-private collaboration.

Timeline

During the open submissions period, entrants submitted technology solutions addressing federal environmental review and permitting challenges. Up to 50 top-scoring solutions will be invited to demonstrate at the Permitting Innovators Expo and included in the Solutions Catalog alongside other qualified submissions.
